Sonabai: Another Way of Seeing

(winner of five awards for Best Short Documentary)
The story of the life’s journey of a remarkable woman who spent 15 years in enforced isolation in a remote central Indian village. During those years of seeing no one but her repressive husband and infant son, Sonabai invented an entirely new style of art, sculpting her walls with beauty, whimsy, delight, and humor. This film celebrates the creative ability of individuals to find solutions to seemingly intolerable conditions.
